THE DARKNESS Writing Songs For Second Album
August 17, 2004Launch Radio Networks is reporting that members of THE DARKNESS have begun writing songs for their next album, but singer Justin Hawkins recently said that — although the creative process is moving along — the group could have been a lot further along if they had not had some missteps along the way. "We've got caught up in the corporate machine," he said. "We've done a lot of things that we knew in our heart of hearts we shouldn't have done, and we knew it was a waste of time, but we did it, and were proved correct on every level."
Hawkins went on to say that he wishes he and his bandmates took it easy after their triple-win at this past February's Brit Awards, instead of launching the full-scale U.S. tour which nearly exhausted them. The band has been busy pretty much nonstop since, and is just now beginning to relax and think about the next album.
The follow-up to THE DARKNESS' hugely successful debut album, "Permission to Land", is expected early next year.
